Shaw Friedman

Principal Attorney Shaw Friedman has been in the practice of law for over thirty years. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, he has built a practice that focuses on standing up in Court for those “needing a voice.” Whether it is the longtime employee of a company who is unfairly discharged from employment, an adoptive parent seeking support from the State for a special needs child, the motorist trying to get a fair result from a responsible party after a collision or a ratepayer concerned over high utility bills and poor service. He is not afraid to handle tough cases.

A 1977 LaPorte High School graduate, Friedman graduated cum laude with his B.A. from Colgate University, Hamilton, New York before attending Notre Dame Law School. In addition to an active private practice involving employment law, personal injury and utility law, Friedman has extensive experience in governmental litigation having served as LaPorte County Attorney for 22 out of the last 28 years. With wins in jury trials in both the federal and state courts, Shaw Friedman brings trial experience and a dedication to aggressive advocacy on behalf of his clients.

Attorney Shaw Friedman is active in our community and was one of the co-founders of Harmony House, which was opened in 1999. He also is the Board President of the Swanson Center, LaPorte County’s community mental health center. He is very committed to non-profit programs such as Harmony House/CASA Program.
